Since achieving a BSc Computing with distinction in 2006 I have worked on several large and complex software implementation projects in the British, Australian, and New Zealand higher education sectors, specialising in SITS:Vision implementation and development.
In addition to creating solution designs and developing and configuring software, my roles have expanded to include training and mentoring for junior staff, the creation and enforcement of development guidelines, and influence over the migration of data from legacy systems.

extensive knowledge of the product’s technical requirements and software stack, all components of the application, and the underlying data model.

Relational databases:
experience designing and working with large data models, and writing and optimising complex SQL scripts. Also competent migrating data between different models, including the mapping, extraction, and transformation of data.

innate ability to identify underlying issues, ask inconvenient questions, and solve the right problems using the best tools.

can quickly interpret and translate business requirements to technical requirements and vice-versa, and discuss needs and solutions with customers of all skill levels.
Work with new and existing customers across the Asia-Pacific region, converting requirements into solution designs, and enhancing existing SITS:Vision implementations.
Provide consultancy services for The University of Waikato during their transition from JadeSMS to SITS:Vision - their newly selected student management system. Approximately 50% of capacity spent training and mentoring junior technical analysts, with remaining time spent on solution design, development, and data migration.
Work on Deakin University’s SITS:Vision implementation project, providing solutions for technical issues, implementation details, training, testing, documentation, and business change and readiness.
A high-profile project charged with replacing the university’s in-house student records system. This role expanded to include project management and leadership of a small team.
Plan, develop and deploy online facilities for students and staff such as online enrolment, online module selection, and manage UCAS integration and statutory HESA processing.
